The best design option between N. Howard Street and N. Quaker Lane is Alternative 3, a three-lane solution with a center left-turn lane, a buffer for people on sidewalks and accommodations for all users. HOWEVER, Alexandria’s Traffic and Parking Board voted 3 to 2 in June to maintain the 4-lane status quo.
